I am having an issue with Teams

If you are having issues with Teams, there are a number of things you can do:

  • Ensure you are logged in with the correct account. To login, you should use your Griffith University email address and Single Sign-on password.
  • Try restarting the application.
  • If you are using Teams in a web browser, ensure you have cookies enabled.
  • Check your network connection. If you are on campus, check Internet and Wi-Fi services.
  • Clear the Microsoft Teams  client cache, see Clear the Microsoft Teams cache (Microsoft  Support)

More detailed guidance on Teams issues can be found at Microsoft Teams troubleshooting (Microsoft Help). If you are still having issues, contact Griffith's IT Service Centre.

Unable to see your Teams meetings?

In certain cases, you may need to access Teams through your web browser or the Teams app and locate the meeting within the designated channel. Some Teams will include Hidden Channels so it is also important to check for this in the app.

Once the meeting is found within the channel, click on the horizontal three-dot menu next to the Join button, then select “View meeting details”. On the meeting details page, click the “+ Add to calendar” option located in the top left corner. This action will synchronize the meeting with your Teams Calendar.

I want to be a part of Teams but have concerns about my privacy. What can I do?

Your Teams account is associated with your Griffith log in, and so your name automatically appears in Teams. If you have concerns about your name being discoverable in Teams, contact us. More information on student privacy is available in protecting student privacy.

Do I have to add my picture in Teams?

Adding a profile picture is completely up to you. If you are building your professional online identity, you might like to use the same photo you use on LinkedIn, for example.

To add your photo, click the circle in the top right corner, showing your initials. You will see a link there to add a picture.

Why am I getting an Echo360 login screen when I try to access my course recordings?

Usually, you will not be asked to login to Echo360. However this can happen if you are using Safari on an iOS device. To fix this issue, check that cookies is enabled in your browser. For instructions, see Safari Recommended Browser Configuration (Echo360 Help). Alternatively, try accessing your course recordings with a different browser, such as Chrome or Firefox.

Why can’t I see a transcript button on my Echo360 recording?

The transcript button is located on the right-hand side of the toolbar, located in either the top or bottom of the screen, depending on the version of Echo360 you are using.  In some rare circumstances, you may not see a transcript button on your Echo360 recording. If this happens to you, we recommend waiting an hour before reloading the recording, particularly if the recording has recently finished processing. If the transcript button is still not available after that, the recording may not be correctly set up to receive a transcript. In this case, we recommend contacting your course convenor so they can check the video and sharing settings in Echo360.
