Early Education and Care

Our Early Childhood and Education Centres are open to Griffith University staff, students and the community.

We cater for children from three months old to five years of age.

We open from 7.30 am - 6 pm. We are open for 50 weeks of the year and close for 2 weeks over the Christmas period.

No we don’t provide food or nappies.

• We will contact you within the week via phone or email
• Book a time for you to visit the centre to discuss your child and family needs
• Confirm required date for a position (please remember there is no guarantee of a spot on the requested date based on current vacancies and staff ratios)
• The service will update the waiting list every 3 months (via email)

Fees will still apply as staff and operating costs still need to be covered. The Australian Government’s Childcare Subsidy (CCS) covers up to 42 absence days a year, which include public holidays.

Yes, you still need to pay for the scheduled day if your child is sick. The Childcare Subsidy will cover up to 42 absence days a year with no documentation and unlimited sick days if you’re able to provide a medical certificate or similar.

We have a requirement of at least two days, or three in Kindergarten, as this helps a child settle into a program.

There is an expectation that you will commit to at least one to two weeks of orientation to help your child develop attachment relationships with our staff team.
