Turnitin Clarity

Turnitin Clarity is an assessment workspace that supports the creation, drafting, and submission of written assignments. It provides greater transparency into the writing process by capturing how a document develops over time, giving both students and educators greater visibility into the progression of work from draft to submission.

Depending on how your course has been configured, you may be able to:

• Draft and edit your work directly in Clarity

• Upload existing content into the writing environment*

• View assignment instructions and resources

• Check your work before submission

• Submit your final assessment through Clarity

• Access feedback and marks after marking has been completed

*only if your Course Convenor advises in their instructions.

Before you start

Before beginning your assessment:

• Read the assessment instructions provided by your Course Convenor.

• Check the assessment due date and submission requirements.

• Familiarise yourself with any course-specific guidance about the use of generative AI tools.

• Ensure you understand the academic integrity expectations for your assessment.

• Ensure your device meets the Minimum IT requirements

Clarity is designed for writing online, so you will need a reliable internet connection while actively writing or editing. It automatically saves your work as you type, and if your connection drops out, editing may temporarily pause until the connection is restored.

Working in Turnitin Clarity

To ensure your Writing Report accurately reflects your work, complete your drafting, editing and revisions within Turnitin Clarity wherever possible.

You can copy and paste content into Clarity; however, pasted content is recorded in the Writing Report and may be reviewed by your Course Convenor. If you paste content, check that formatting, references and other elements appear correctly before submitting.

After you submit

Once your assignment has been submitted:

• You will see a confirmation message confirming your submission has been received.

• Your Course Convenor may allow resubmissions before the due date.

• Feedback, marks and reports will become available when released by your teaching team.

The availability of feedback, resubmissions and grading features may vary between courses.
