At Griffith, we have an ongoing commitment to First Peoples, inclusion, gender equity and social justice for all

Griffith supports a diverse and inclusive student and staff community and is recognised for providing a safe, supportive and productive learning and work environment.

We are committed to social justice and the highest ethical standards of research, practice and governance.

Griffith also leads the way in First Peoples education and research. We have the largest Indigenous student population of any Queensland university, and the second largest number of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander academic staff in Australia.

Griffith was amongst the first cohort of universities to receive an Athena Swan Bronze award for our commitment to gender equity in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Medicine (STEMM) and in 2022, Griffith was recognised as a Silver employer in the Australian Workplace Equality Index (LGBTIQ+) inclusion awards. Our Pride Committee and Ally Network support progress on LGBTIQ+ inclusion and our Griffith Sport Pride strategy provide an inclusive environment for a diversity of genders, bodies and sexualities.
