Join Australia's largest criminology school
Griffith is ranked No.1 for Law and Criminology in Australia*, and we have one of the largest criminology academic communities in the world.
Criminology involves examination of the causes and consequences of complex crime and criminal justice issues. Who commits crimes and why? How is crime measured? How does society respond to crime?
With a Griffith degree in criminology and criminal justice you will gain the knowledge and skills to help those people who have been impacted by crime. You will learn how crime affects the community at every level, understand the motivations of crime and be able to implement strategies to combat crime. You'll learn to use research to identify social issues that lead to crime. You'll understand what makes criminals tick as well as how to circumvent negative impacts on society.

Meg Gilles
Bachelor of Criminology and Criminal Justice/ Bachelor of Information Technology
Taking a combination of on-campus and online classes has given Meg Gilles the flexibility to continue working full-time while still pursuing her passions. After completing a Diploma of Justice at TAFE Meg Gilles enrolled in the Bachelor of Criminology and Criminal Justice and Bachelor of Information Technology at Griffith. She hopes to work in counter-intelligence or cyber-crime. Meg says, “Studying online has been amazing and given me flexibility - It meant I could still work fulltime without the need to extend my degree”.
