Supporting staff with a disability
Disability inclusion is a commitment within our Strategic Plan. We have a Disability Advisory Committee and Disability Action Plan to drive our actions. Our Injury Management team in Health, Safety and Wellbeing support staff who experience injury, illness and/or disability. Griffith is a member of the Australian Network on Disability.
Disability Advisory Committee
The Disability Advisory Committee acts as a reference group for the Griffith University Equity Committee on matters relating to students and staff with disabilities and advise the Equity Committee on the development, implementation and evaluation of the University’s Disability Action Plan.
Disability Action Plan
The Disability Action Plan outlines the goals, priorities and key actions related to disability access and inclusion at Griffith University.
Staff with Disability Procedure
The Staff with Disability, Accessibility and Inclusion Procedure outlines how the University promotes inclusion for staff with disability, including the provision of Workplace Adjustments.
Support for staff with a disability
The Injury and Disability Support Team in Health Safety and Wellbeing provide support related to injury, illness and disability.

Disability Awareness Training
This program, facilitated by the Student Disability and Accessibility team, aims to build staff and student confidence in interactions with people with disability, learn tips for better communication, discover where to find out more information about particular disability topics and share this new knowledge with others.
Disability Inclusion Workshops
Facilitated by the Australian Disability Network, these staff workshops cover the importance of disability confidence for individuals and the whole organisation; the value of inclusive language, behaviour, and environments; and awareness of workplace adjustments.

Griffith is a member of The Australian Disability Network (ADN) who provides support, resources, professional development, networking and benchmarking opportunities for members aiming to be disability confident organisations.
