Join an exciting and dynamic industry

Successful marketing professionals are paid to think differently. Marketing is more than just advertising and selling, it’s about finding solutions to customer problems. You can have the best product in the world but without marketing, your customers won’t know about it. Whether it's a charity trying to solicit donations or a multinational wanting to increase monthly sales, marketing plays a central role.

If you’re creative, analytical, a good communicator and a quick thinker, marketing is a great career for you. You’ll learn about identifying and understanding a market, consumer behaviour, communication, and how to develop strategies for staying ahead of competitors.

Study marketing at Griffith

Skills for the evolving world of marketing

Skilled marketers are always in demand because technology is altering the way we work and live, and markets and customer tastes are continually changing. Griffith’s marketing degrees teach you key skills that will prepare you your future career. You’ll learn how to research and analyse markets, competitors, customers and organisations; understand why they behave the way they do; and use this information to gain a competitive advantage.

Gain practical experience

Get out of the classroom and into the field with a local or international internship or Community Internship. You’ll gain experience and professional connections working on a project for a real company or community organisation and earn credit towards your degree.

Study your way

Build your marketing studies around the lifestyle that suits you. With the flexibility of studying part-time or full-time, over two or three trimesters each year, you can manage your student life. You can start your marketing degree in February, July or October.

Get ahead of the game

Want a unique skill set that gives you an edge in the career market? A double major will expand your career options exponentially. Choose a second major from the Bachelor of Business or combine marketing with a major from the Bachelor of Commerce. Go on to specialise in either field or combine the two and aim high in the working world.

Brooke Santurini

Marketing professional Brooke Santurini secured the role of Brand Manager with the Gold Coast Suns within five years of completing a double major in management and marketing. She recalls how she had one eye on her future career while studying for her degree at Griffith. 'From an early stage I started thinking about how I could make the most of my university experience—ensuring I gained as much work experience as possible,' she says. The Griffith Business School industry mentoring program led Brooke to an internship at Gold Coast Tourism, where she took up the position of Executive—Australia Marketing for Gold Coast Tourism within a year of graduating. Brooke has stayed connected with Griffith Business School where she is now a mentor to final year students of marketing, tourism and event management.
