The Accessible Filmmaking Program is an inclusive training initiative designed to support people with disability and autism to develop skills, confidence, and pathways into the screen industry. Griffith Film School is a proud venue partner in Brisbane and Gold Coast, recognising the vital role of this initiative in ensuring that emerging filmmakers of all abilities can access pathways into the creative arts.
Delivered nationwide across a 40-week program, the weekly classes provide a supportive and professional learning environment where participants can explore storytelling through hands-on filmmaking.

Based on their award winning Accessible Filmmaking Program Curriculum and inclusive learning philosophy, participants are able to shine and build many transformative life skills including; improved literacy, social and communication skills, develop friendships, increased confidence and work ready skills. Participants also benefit from exclusive workshops, amazing excursions, screen industry workplace opportunities, and work collaboratively with professional cast and crew on a film project.
The program is open to individuals who are 17 years of age or older and who have a mild to moderate disability or Autism, with a strong focus on those with intellectual disability.
The program runs from mid January to December each year, with weekly classes. The program is comprised of four blocks per year with 10 workshops in each block, with participants enrolling into the full year. The programs are supported by experienced support workers who have a real passion for seeing participants succeed within the programs and on a film set.
Bus Stop Films’ program has already demonstrated strong impact nationwide, with participants reporting transformational outcomes. According to program data, 100% of participants said the program helped them make friends, while more than 70% reported improvements in confidence, problem-solving, and work readiness.
