New course - Victimology
In Semester 1 the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice is introducing a new second year course on Victimology. Victimologists argue that the field of criminology has tended to ignore the role of crime victims and has focussed predominantly on the offender and the types of crimes they commit. The new course addresses this imbalance by focusing on victims of crime. It will present students with an introductory analysis of the field and canvass a number of victim-related issues.
