We select individuals and teams to compete in a variety of sports, representing Griffith University to compete against other Australian universities at UniSport Nationals. Nationals are played each year at a differing location around Australia. There are also a number of standalone events for sports not represented at the main UniSport Nationals.
Nationals 26 September - 2 October 2026, Perth
Become a Griffith Team Leader
Each sport that competes at the 2026 Nationals (Div 1 and Div 2) is required to have a Griffith Team Leader (GTL) to assist in the coordination and management of their team. In most cases, a Brisbane and Gold Coast GTL will be appointed to each sport. There are a number of benefits associated to our leadership program and it is a great way to get involved!
Nationals Div 1 & Div 2
The 2026 UniSport Nationals Div 1 and Div 2 will be heldin Perth from the 26 September - 2 October. The event will see over 6,500 participants from across Australia participate in 32 different sports.
Intervarsity Sport Bowl
Griffith Intervarsity Sport Bowl, Saturday 9 May 2026, Brisbane South (Nathan) & Brisbane South (Mt Gravatt). Universities from across Queensland and Northern NSW compete in a one day tournament to be crowned the Intervarsity Sport Bowl champion!
Standalone National Events
Represent GU at UniSport Nationals standalone events including Athletics, Triathlon, Swimming, 3x3 Basketball, Distance Running, T20 Cricket, Snow, Cross Country, Cheer & Dance and Surfing.
Indigenous Nationals
In 2026, the 30th Indigenous Nationals will be held from 29 June - 3 July at the University of Newcastle in Newcastle, NSW. The event will contested in a mixed competition across four sports: touch football, basketball, netball, and volleyball.
