Discover how to represent Griffith in sport
We select individuals and teams to compete in a variety of sports, representing Griffith University to compete against other Australian universities at Nationals. Nationals are held on the Gold Coast, with division 2 sports to be played in July and division 1 sports to be played in September. There are also a host of other inter-varsity events that cover a number of other sports.
Please note that Unigames no longer exists and Nationals Div 1 & Div 2 replace this program. As a result each sport division is only played once per year, so if you don't sign up for a certain sport division in Nationals Div 2, it will not be available in Div 1. There is only one opportunity to play each sport per year.
Other Tertiary Events
There are a number of stand alone inter-teriary Events including:
2018 Nationals 3x3 Basketball (TBC), Indigenous Games (Sydney, 25 - 28 June), Rowing (TBC), Snow (TBC), Surfing (TBC), T20 Cricket (TBC), Triathlon (TBC), Distance Running (TBC)
Become a Team Leader
Each sport that competes at the 2018 Nationals (Div 1 and Div 2) is required to have a Griffith Team Leader (GTL) to assist in coordination and management of their team. In most cases, a Brisbane and Gold Coast GTL will be appointed to each sport.
Griffith University Womens National Sevens University Series
This Series provides an elite pathway for female student athletes to get involved in Rugby 7s at a National level. The ARU states that "the competition will fill a much-needed gap in the national women’s Sevens pathway, offering the nation’s best up-and-coming talent the opportunity to train and play in a high-performance environment to stake their claims for national selection."
We invite interested athletes to express their interest in joining this squad.
