Join the Griffith Sport Event Leaders and get hands-on experience helping deliver the Logan Fun Run and Toohey Trail Run. Whether you’re studying events or simply keen to get involved, you’ll build practical skills, meet new people and see what it takes to bring a major sporting event to life.
Griffith Sport Event Leaders
Volunteer role
Leaders will work across a range of different sporting events in varying roles in order to develop a well-rounded base of skills. A few of the roles you may be assigned to include:
- Course Marshals and Supervisors
- Finish Line Marshals
- Timing Officials
- Race Pack Collection and Bag Drop
- Water Station Attendants
- Event set up and pack down crew

Eligible Griffith Sport Event volunteers can now receive Griffith Credentials - a new way to showcase your achievements and accomplishments.

Key event dates
It is preferable that all Griffith Sport Event Leaders are available to attend our key event dates for 2026:
- Logan Fun Run: Sunday 31 May 2026
- Toohey Trail Run: Sunday 20 September 2026
As a vital part of the event team, your presence and involvement are important to the successful delivery of these events. Working across both events will give you the opportunity to take on a variety of roles, gain hands-on event experience and further develop your skills.
What happens next
After your application has been reviewed, successful applicants will be invited to join our Event Leaders Facebook group. This is where we’ll share important updates, event information and everything you need to know in the lead-up. From there, we look forward to welcoming you to the team and seeing you at the event!
