Android authentication options
You can authenticate using the following options
Swipe authentication
1. Login to the Griffith portal, or any Griffith system using Single Sign-on to access (e.g. email) from the browser > enter your sNumber and password.
An Authentication window will prompt you to enter a passcode.
2. If your mobile device is unlocked > swipe up to authenticate.
If your mobile device is locked > do one of the following (depending on your notification settings):
a) The swipe screen appears > swipe to authenticate (even though the mobile device is locked).
b) A notification is shown on the lock screen > swipe left and tap Approve
c) Unlock the screen > swipe to authenticate.
3. The green check mark indicating authentication is successful will appear and the Griffith resource will open.
Fingerprint authentication
You must have registered your fingerprints on your device before setting up your mobile device for MFA.
Authentication varies slightly depending on your device model, settings, and whether your device is locked or unlocked when the authentication request is sent.
1. Login to the Griffith portal, or any Griffith system using Single Sign-on to access (e.g. email) from the browser > enter your sNumber and password.
2. An Authentication window will prompt you to enter a passcode.
3. If your mobile device is unlocked > you will be prompted to scan your fingerprint immediately.
If your mobile device is locked > do one of the following, according to your notification settings:
a) If your notifications are set to show content > the notification request is shown on your lock screen.
b) Swipe down on the notification > tap Approve.
c) When prompted unlock the device with your fingerprint (authentication is performed at the same time).
Note: Steps may vary according to device model.
4. If your mobile device is set to Hide content > tap the notification to unlock your device > you will be prompted to authenticate using your fingerprint.
If your mobile device is set to Do not show notifications > your device may beep/vibrate or the screen light up to indicate a notification has arrived > unlock your device.
5. Scan your fingerprint when prompted to do so.
6. The green check mark indicating authentication is successful will appear and the Griffith resource will open.
Android watch authentication
Some Android models automatically enable you to authenticate using your Android watch. If the PingID app is installed on your mobile device and your Android watch model and configuration are compatible with the PingID app, you'll automatically start receiving push notifications to your Android watch when your mobile device is locked.
1. If your Android mobile device and configuration supports the use of Android watch for notifications, when your mobile device is locked you will receive a notification to your watch automatically.
2. Swipe to authenticate.
One-time passcode authentication
If you do not have internet access on your mobile > authenticate using PingID mobile App by generating a one-time passcode.
