Support for an enrolled student who is also a Griffith Accommodation Residential Leader

The Griffith Accommodation Residential Leadership Scholarship is designed to support Griffith Accommodation residents who have demonstrated community leadership qualities.

Scholarship recipients can develop these skills and contribute to improving the experience of residents through role modelling positive behaviours, demonstrating commitment to upholding community standards, and maintaining an active presence within the college community.

Scholarship details

To be eligible applicants must:

  • be a returning resident of Griffith Accommodation and lived on-campus for a minimum of one trimester
  • be an enrolled student at Griffith University (preferably full-time)
  • hold a position within the Griffith Accommodation Student Leadership Team
  • have a cumulative GPA of 4.5 or above* at time of application.

* If you encountered extenuating personal, medical, or professional circumstances which impacted on your academic performance and therefore do not meet the GPA stipulation, you can still apply. You will need to outline the nature of these circumstances and provide supporting evidence. Your cumulative GPA must be above good academic standing.

Statements

To give yourself the best chance, we recommend you complete the personal statement. All statements you complete will be considered.

Personal statement

Max. 500 words, detail your career and personal ambitions and how this scholarship would assist you in achieving them.

Supporting documentation

You must upload the following*:

  • Current CV including referee details and a copy of your transcript.
  • Statement, no more than an A4 page, addressing the following:
    • demonstrated leadership within college,
    • goals for improving life on college and how this scholarship would assist you in achieving those goals.

Value

Maximum instalment value of $2,500 per eligible trimester. Up to three years or a maximum nine trimesters.

Payment

First payment made on acceptance then paid each census terms and conditions are met.

Payments are made into a nominated bank account up to six weeks after the trimester census date, subject to satisfying scholarship terms and conditions.

To remain eligible for the scholarship, applicants will be required to:

  • remain enrolled in an approved Griffith University course
  • maintain a current GPA of 4.5 or above for each trimester
  • remain part of the Student Leadership Team within Griffith Accommodation
  • remain a resident of Griffith Accommodation.

You will be required to provide a statement at the end of each trimester reflecting on your contribution to your college community and outlining future goals.

Applications must be completed and submitted by the closing date.

Applicants may be shortlisted and be required to provide additional information.
