Scholarship details

To be eligible you must:

  • be an Australian Citizen or Permanent resident.
  • be eligible for, and accepted into, a Griffith Business School degree at Griffith University commencing in T1 2024.
  • be enrolled as a full-time student.
  • not be a recipient of another equity scholarship

Preference will be given to applicants who reside in postcodes 4220 – 4225 and 2485.

Statements

To give yourself the best chance, we recommend you complete the personal statement, all statements you complete will be considered.

  • Personal statement:  max. 500 words, demonstrating your passion/involvement/activities in the accounting/finance sector.
  • Challenges statement: max 250 words, detailing the financial challenges you’ve overcome, or which have the potential to impact your studies.
  • Supporting documentation: you must upload the following, please use only the following formats- pdf, word, jpeg or excel, we can only guarantee these formats will be accepted:
    • evidence of financial need (Centrelink or budget statements).

Shortlist information

Shortlisted applicants may be required to attend an interview.

Value

Maximum value is $5,000, paid in instalments. Instalments of $2,500 are payable for each full-time enrolled trimester up to maximum value of the scholarship.

Payment

Payments are made up to six weeks after the census date, subject to recipients satisfying the scholarship’s terms and conditions.

To remain eligible for the scholarship, recipients must:

  • remain enrolled on a full-time basis, in the Griffith Business School degree for which the scholarship was awarded
  • maintain a minimum GPA 4.5
  • not be a recipient of another equity scholarship.

Recipients may be invited to meet with the donor and be featured in marketing materials to promote the scholarship.

The above conditions are verified each trimester at census date. If a scholarship recipient fails to successfully meet these conditions, it is at the discretion of the Scholarship Selection Committee to withhold the trimester instalment, or terminate the scholarship. The recipient must show cause to the Scholarships Office why the scholarship should not be terminated.

Applications, including supporting documentation, must be completed and submitted by the closing date.

Applicants may be shortlisted and be required to provide additional information.

Griffith University reserves the right to withdraw an advertised scholarship at any time.
