Researching quality care to improve the lives of others

Griffith Paramedicine aims to educate and inspire leaders in paramedicine and integrated healthcare who will improve human health through research discovery, and scholarship, with education delivery informed by current research. Our aim is to be recognised as a global leader in paramedicine education, collaborative health research, and scholarship.

The research areas covered by the Griffith Paramedicine Team include clinical practice, workplace violence exposure and its effects, undergraduate paramedicine education, and paramedic and paramedicine student health and wellbeing.

Our research aims to improve prehospital clinical practice; better educate paramedics and paramedicine students about the acts of workplace violence, how to manage it and the importance of reporting; to improve undergraduate paramedicine education with appropriate curriculum, curriculum delivery, assessment, and clinical placements; and to improve paramedic and paramedicine student health and wellbeing with targeted fitness programs, identification of stressors and processes for alleviating the stress.
