The Centre for Environment and Population Health addresses pressing concerns for population health, environmental sustainability and economic opportunity. We work in partnership with international communities through research, consultancy, capacity-building and by nurturing leaders.
Our approach and strengths
We use our partnerships and multidisciplinary teams to identify and address global environmental and population health challenges. Our research emphasis is on promoting multi-sectoral collaboration to generate and use scientific evidence to inform strategy development and improve policy and practice.

Film: Dealing with Disasters
The Centre for Environment and Public Health presents 'Dealing with Disasters: The Silent Achievers in Public Health'. The film explores the efforts of Queensland’s public health workers, and those involved in managing a large-scale and intense set of disasters: the Summer of Sorrow.

Professor Cordia Chu
With a PhD in medical sociology and anthropology at Griffith Health, Professor Chu has a keen interest in translational research to improve policies and practices to meet the needs of vulnerable populations. Under her leadership, CEPH has been building interdisciplinary research and capacity building teams to address environment and health issues. She has won 32 research and project grants, 48 international and 26 Australian consulting and advisory projects and served on many professional committees.
