Information about your chairs
The office chairs listed below will suit most users. Additional options may enhance suitability for people of different sizes. Selection criteria includes safety, ergonomic comfort, durability, local manufacture or assembly, pricing, sustainability and aesthetics. Griffith office chairs are required to have Australian Furniture Research & Development Institute, AFRDI level six certification for commercial use. The minimum load carrying capacity for office chairs is 120 kg, however 135 kg is preferred.

Standard upholstery fabrics and fabric suppliers: Fabric suppliers can be found at the bottom of the page. Fabrics are generally rated for commercial heavy-duty use. Wool is Griffith’s standard upholstery fabric for office chairs and is preferred for other seating. This fabric does not contaminate indoor air, is naturally fire retardant, absorbs moisture, is biodegradable, renewable and is naturally resistant to bacteria. Note: Mould grows on upholstery foam under fabric if food or liquids are left to seep through.
