Purpose beyond profit
Like all MBAs, the Griffith MBA explores all of the business disciplines you would expect—accounting and reporting, economics, finance, people management, marketing, strategy and innovation. However, what makes our MBA different is that it's built on core values that are crucial to doing business in the 21st century: sustainable business practices, responsible leadership and an Asia-Pacific perspective. If you are looking to develop your critical thinking skills and identify new solutions that will improve the world around you, then the Griffith MBA is the right fit for you.
I work for the City of the Gold Coast, deploying the largest commercial-grade Internet of Things network in Australia, which will be used to capture data across numerous verticals in order to make more meaningful and effective business decisions. I chose a Griffith MBA because I believe it will help me do this better. Having seen first-hand the changing trends in business from profit at-all-costs, towards operating within more inclusive politics and sustainable outlooks, I wanted to be part of this change.
I was inspired by the MBA and the opportunity to network with executives and experts in the forefront of this change. Completing a Graduate Certificate in Leadership and Management at Griffith made me believe I could be an integral part in putting these changes into effect. As a recipient of a 2019 QBM MBA Responsible Leadership Scholarship and currently completing the MBA, I’m pushing myself further toward my goals every day. I want to be a leader known for my influence and my ability, but most importantly, my integrity.
Whilst studying and working full-time is challenging and at first, daunting, the fully flexible nature of the degree allows me to fit my study into my life with after hours, online or on campus classes and a vibrant online network of always-connected students and industry experts to bounce off. When businesses and governments are led by people who understand how to thrive in current climates of rapid technological advancements, and the move toward ethical, inclusive and sustainable practices, I want to be at the front of the change.
