Queensland Health has  established this scholarship to support Bachelor of Midwifery students with financial costs related to undertaking and completing their studies at Griffith University.

Scholarship details

To be eligible, you must:

  • be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
  • be enrolled in the Bachelor of Midwifery degree in a minimum 20 credit points
  • have a GPA of 4 or above (continuing students only)
  • demonstrate financial hardship based on a comprehensive assessment by the University*.

*Information you provide in the Griffith online scholarship application is used to conduct a comprehensive Educational Disadvantage Assessment (EDA).

Application assessment

You will need to demonstrate financial hardship but other types of educational disadvantage may be considered in the selection process. Information you provide in your Griffith online scholarship application is used to conduct a comprehensive Educational Disadvantage Assessment (EDA).

Value

Maximum value is $5,000, paid in two instalments of $2,500 in Trimester 1 and 2. Payments are made in each enrolled trimester conditions are met, up to the maximum value of the scholarship.

Payment

Payments are made up to six weeks after the census date subject to satisfying scholarship terms and conditions.

Please note: Payments made while studying part-time may be taxable.

Payment is made, after census, on confirmation the recipient is enrolled at Griffith University and still meets eligibility requirements.

To remain eligible for the scholarship, recipients will be required to:

  • remain enrolled at Griffith University in a Bachelor of Midwifery program in a minimum 20 credit points in a trimester
  • maintain a GPA of 4 or above. Students who are excluded from study under any University procedure will lose their scholarship.

The above conditions are verified each trimester at census date. If a scholarship recipient fails to successfully meet these conditions, scholarship payments may be withheld, or the scholarship may be terminated.

Applications must be completed and submitted by the closing date.

Applicants may be shortlisted and be required to provide additional information.

Griffith University reserves the right to withdraw an advertised scholarship at any time.
