This scholarship provides financial support to a student with a disability, studying an undergraduate degree within the Griffith Business School.

Scholarship details

To be eligible, you must:

  • be an Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident
  • be a commencing or continuing student, enrolled full-time or part-time, in an undergraduate degree hosted by the Griffith Business School
  • be registered with Griffith University Student Disability and Accessibility support services
  • have a minimum GPA of 4.0 (if a current student)
  • not have received a Brighter Futures Scholarship, (inclusive) during your undergraduate study.

Statements

  • Personal statement: In 500 words or less, describe yourself and your personal attributes, such as your potential to achieve at Griffith University, career/life aspirations, community/university involvement, other interests or extracurricular activities.
  • Challenges statement: In 300 words or less, outline the personal or financial challenges you have faced or overcome and what this scholarship would mean to you.

You must also upload the following in the supporting documentation section:

  • Current CV/resume
  • Future statement: In 300 words or less, outline how you can apply your personal attributes and career aspirations in an organisation like QIC.

Value

The scholarship may be valued up to $10,000 for full-time study, paid in instalments of $5,000, provided conditions are met. Scholarship for part-time study is valued at $5,000 paid in instalments of $2,500. (Final payment schedule to be determined by the donor QIC, and terms and conditions will remain constant.)

Terms and conditions are verified each trimester.

Payment

Payments are made up to three weeks after the census date subject to satisfying this scholarship's terms and conditions.

To remain eligible for the scholarship, the recipient will be required to:

  • remain enrolled in the approved Griffith Business School undergraduate degree
  • maintain a minimum GPA of 4.0.

A scholarship recipient may take leave of absence in accordance with University policy. Scholarship benefits are suspended for the period of leave of absence.

Recipients must not defer.

The recipient may also be invited to meet with the donor, have their image featured in marketing materials to promote the scholarship.

The above conditions are verified each trimester at census date. If a scholarship recipient fails to successfully meet these conditions, it is at the discretion of the Selection Committee to withhold the trimester instalment or terminate the scholarship. The recipient must show cause to the Scholarships Office why the scholarship should not be cancelled.

Applications, including any supporting documentation, must be completed and submitted by the closing date.

The selection panel may decide to interview short-listed candidates. In making its recommendation, the selection panel will take into account personal qualities, including leadership potential.

Applicants may be required to provide additional information in order to determine eligibility.
