Date of competition

For 2020, Shortlisted applicants will be assessed for their performance and professionalism within the annual Revue performance (‘Elegies’ March 2020) and the annual end of year showcase.

3rd Year Showcase, Burke Street Theatre.

  • Applicants must be enrolled in the third year of the Musical Theatre program at the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University.
  • Must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or a person who holds an Australian Permanent Humanitarian Visa (or its equivalent)
  • Applicants must not have a family home (parent or guardian) in either Sydney or Melbourne
  • Applicants should not hold any other Griffith University academic scholarship that serves the same ore purpose.

Applicants must complete an application form and include a statement of financial need, a written statement of no more than 400 words outlining their ambition and anticipated use of, and benefit from, the Award monies and have demonstrated high level of skill in singing, dancing and acting, evidenced by 2nd and 3rd year GPA and performance

  • Applicants will be assessed by the Selection Panel and a shortlist will be drawn up
  • Shortlisted applicants will be judged by the Selection Panel for their performance and professionalism at the Annual Third Year Showcase.
  • The winner will be chosen based on their written application and live performance
  • Candidates who do not submit all relevant documentation listed above with their entry form will not qualify to take part in the competition
  • The adjudication panel will comprise of the Head of Performing Arts, or their selected representative, one outside professional involved in, or with extensive experience in, Musical Theatre, and one donor, or their selected representative.
  • No adjudicator may be the teacher of a student who is competing
