The Research Excellence, Performance and Systems section of the Office for Research is comprised of two teams working towards the effective, efficient and accurate management of Griffith’s key research systems and platforms, research administration data, bibliometrics, performance analytics, and research impact reporting and communications. The teams provide data, reports, communications, training and support to a range of internal and external University stakeholders including in relation to government submissions. They work in close collaboration with other Griffith offices and units to support Griffith’s research excellence.

Research Data and Reporting team

The Research Data and Reporting team plays a critical role in supporting the University’s research ecosystem. The team manage and maintain key research administration systems and ensure the integrity of research administration data, enabling efficient processes and accurate reporting. Through close collaboration with Griffith Library and Digital Solutions, the team deliver systems (e.g., Symplectic Elements, EPIQ) and services that enhance the overall researcher experience, allow accurate reporting, and publicly promote Griffith’s research expertise.

Research Performance and Impact team

The Research Performance and Impact team provide strategic support to research leaders in the Academic Groups and professional units across the University in relation to performance analytics, reporting and benchmarking.

The team manage Griffith’s data submissions to global university rankings under direction of the Dean Sustainability & Rankings, to government departments and agencies like the Higher Education Research Data Collection (HERDC), and the proposed ARC Research Insights Capability assessment among others.

The team provide support to all levels of the University in creating and communicating research impact that occurs outside of academia and the University setting. The team manage the Griffith Impact website and Research at Griffith LinkedIn Page, and support the collection of impact narratives through the Records of Impact module in Symplectic Elements.
