Learn more about Griffith University's strategic directions in learning and teaching
There are a number of plans which underpin Griffith University's strategic directions in learning and teaching. The University's Academic Plan is supported by a related suite of key, complementary planning documents including the Retention Operational Plan and Employability Action Plan.
Griffith has also developed an evidence-informed Learning and Teaching Framework which provides the basis for the Course and Program Design Standards to inform the choice, design and alignment of learning outcomes, learning activities and assessment tasks, as well as our digital and physical learning environment.
These plans and frameworks are available to download below.

Learning and teaching frameworks and design standards
Griffith Learning and Teaching Framework
Designing for success
Griffith University has developed an evidence-informed Learning and Teaching Framework designed to facilitate the learning and success of our students and graduates and underpin the ongoing transformation of our learning and teaching practice.
Program Design Standards
Designing for success
The Program Design Standards translate the Griffith Learning and Teaching Framework at the program level. We will use these standards to support staff in the process of reviewing and refreshing existing Programs and developing and designing new Programs.
Course Design Standards
Designing for success
Course Standards provide student-centred experiences for each learning and teaching principle in the Griffith Learning and Teaching Framework. These are elaborated through descriptions of Exemplar Practices (activities that support each standard).
Griffith Learning and Teaching Capabilities Framework
Practice values, capabilities and lifecycle
The Griffith Learning and Teaching Capabilities Framework makes explicit the individual capabilities underpinning our roles in learning and teaching. Within the Framework, a capability is defined as an individual’s ability to apply specific knowledges, skills and/or values to their learning and teaching practice.
