Katherine Hayes graduated from Griffith Law School in 2001 and since then has practiced as a lawyer in top tier firms in Australia, and in-house in a Lloyd’s syndicate in London. Katherine was a partner at Carter Newell Lawyers specialising in professional indemnity before taking up the CEO role at the Youth Advocacy Centre, a community legal centre, in September 2022. The role involves a broad skill set, including advocating for legislative, policy and systemic change in the youth justice system in Queensland.
