Transitioning to High School

This workshop series focuses on personal management, a key pillar in the Australian blueprint for career development. Activities are centred around building effective relationships, developing a strong self-concept, fostering a growth mindset and enhancing study skills.

Uncover your calling

Students will discover potential career options that connect with their personalities, motivations and values. Aligned to myFuture, Australia's national career information service, students will analyse their strengths, to guide an exploration of career pathways.

On-campus experience

Students will learn about job industries, including top occupations and growth prospects, through fun and interactive workshops and activities led by current students. Experiencing university life first-hand, students will build connections, debunk common myths about university and be inspired for the future.

Career ready skills

In today’s workforce, skills like innovation, adaptability, and problem-solving are essential for success. Students will learn how to develop a mindset that embraces change, builds resilience and excels in the future job market.

Pathway planning

Through this engaging workshop, students will uncover their personal strengths and learn how to connect them with future study choices and career aspirations. They explore a range of career pathways, plan relevant senior school subjects, and consider post-school options such as university, VET, apprenticeships, or on-the-job training. The workshop empowers students to make informed, confident decisions about their future.

How to thrive in senior studies

This workshop helps students develop skills to manage competing priorities during their final years of school. Using evidence based techniques for managing stress and handling exam pressure—with a focus on time management—they will learn how to cope with the demands of senior study.

On-campus experience

Offered throughout the year, these experiences allow students to dive deep into a specific discipline through interactive activities and workshops. Students will learn about career prospects and entry requirements into Griffith’s degrees. These events have limited capacity per school.

Pathways to university

In this workshop, students will explore what university is and the various entry pathways available. It also covers important topics like choosing the right course, adjustment factors and Assistance Schemes including the Higher Education Loan Programme and the Educational Access Scheme.

Scholarship workshops

Griffith University offers a range of scholarships for high school students. This session provides an overview of scholarships available and guides students through a mock application, offering helpful tips and strategies to make their application stand out.

QTAC workshop

The QTAC application is a crucial, but daunting, first step towards university. This workshop guides students through the key steps of their application, including preference selection and important application dates. We also cover timetable planning after acceptance, for a smooth transition into university.

Q&A drop-in sessions
