Information about soft seating chairs
Selected models listed below are available as single, two and/or three seaters, they have armrests and different base options. Other models are only available as single seaters. Selection criteria for soft seating used in education and commercial environments include safety, ergonomic comfort, durability, flexibility, pricing, aesthetics, sustainability and local manufacture or assembly within a four to six week delivery lead.
Standard upholstery fabrics and fabric suppliers are listed below.
Fabrics are generally rated for Commercial Heavy-Duty use. Wool is Griffith’s preferred upholstery fabric as it does not contaminate indoor air, is naturally fire retardant, absorbs moisture, is biodegradable, renewable and is naturally resistant to bacteria. Other fabrics and vinyls have been provided for more heavily used environments or where food is consumed.
Note: Mould grows on upholstery foam under fabric if food or liquids are left to seep through
