Staying COVID Safe at our on-campus events

Griffith Sport will be following Queensland Health guidelines to ensure you can have fun, whilst still staying safe - being COVID Safe is a shared responsibility.

What we are doing

We are managing our events under a Queensland Government COVID Safe Event Checklist and/or Plan and implementing some key changes to make our events safe and fun for everyone.

Some of the things we are doing include:

  • Queue management strategies implemented at all areas where lines are expected
  • Increased cleaning, hygiene and handwashing facilities
  • COVID safe activities and entertainment
  • We are collecting details from every participant and spectator to facilitate contract tracing, if required

What you can do

Stay home if unwell

  • Stay home if you are unwell or have a cough, fever, sore throat, fatigue, shortness of breath, loss of smell or loss of taste, diarrhoea &/or nausea/vomiting.
  • Please note that event staff have the right to refuse entry into the event space, and the right to remove patrons from the event space, who are displaying COVID-19 symptoms.

Stay home if in the last 14 days you have

  • Been in a declared COVID-19 hotspot
  • Travelled overseas
  • Been in contact with someone with COVID-19
  • Tested positive for COVID-19
  • Required to be in hotel quarantine or isolation
  • Been tested for COVID-19 and awaiting the result

Maintain social distancing

  • Keep 1.5m between yourself and others

Wash your hands regularly

  • Practice good hand hygiene. Wash your hands frequently and use hand sanitiser where provided.

Download the COVID safe app

Download and run the Federal Government’s official COVIDSafe app

Follow the COVID Safe instructions & messaging

  • Please ensure that you are following all instructions and announcements from our event staff and volunteers. In addition, please keep note of and follow all COVID Safe signage.

What happens if any event is cancelled due to COVID-19?

If the event is cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions, we will communicate these significant changes and advise you of the outcome of our decision on whether to postpone or provide a virtual event alternative.
