The Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan and Griffith University have established the "Higher Education Commission - Griffith University Joint Funding Program". HEC and Griffith collaborate on providing scholarship opportunities and placements to selected graduate students from Pakistan who wish to complete a PhD degree at Griffith. HEC and Griffith will jointly sponsor selected students from Pakistan each year to undertake Griffith's PhD program.

Up to 5 scholarships will be available:

  • Griffith will provide tuition fee scholarships to cover the full cost of tuition for a period of up to 3 years with a possible 6 month extension
  • HEC will provide a living stipend, which is A$19,000 annually, paid monthly, return airfares and funds to cover Overseas Student Health Cover and accommodation expenses while living in Australia.
  • Griffith will also provide a top-up scholarship to supplement the value of the HEC living stipend, bringing the total stipend payments to the value of a GUPRS

Applicants nominated by HEC will apply for PhD admission and scholarship at Griffith. Applicants must fulfil all relevant academic entry requirements, including the prescribed level of English language proficiency for PhD admission and scholarships at Griffith. Applicants are required to hold a bachelor degree with first-class honours or a masters degree incorporating a significant research component, from a recognised institution; or equivalent.

Applicants must be nominated by HEC.
