Bachelor of Design - Graphic and Communication Design

Throughout my graphic design practice, I have found a love for branding, communication design, and layouts. I always aim to create positive change and focus on the idea of communication being structured in a way to make people's lives easier. I find that I particularly enjoy accommodating for different criteria, which can be seen throughout all of my design work.

I have received a Griffith Award for Academic Excellence in both 2019 and 2020. I have participated in the Liveworm internship program twice during my degree: once online during lockdown, and another in the Liveworm studio. This was an incredible experience, and definitely a highlight, especially since Liveworm was one of the reasons why I chose to study at Griffith. I loved being able to respond to real-world briefs and do my best to provide my client with the best outcome that I could. Liveworm's environment and being able to comfortably interact with tutors and other students helped me to strive to keep working hard and do my best, as well as helped me gain a better understanding for what I would want to do for work in the future.

While studying at QCA, I have been allowed to explore my skills and develop new ones through every project. I was particularly excited to take part in Liveworm (2021), where I was able to experience what it is like to work in a design studio with clients and directors guiding my learning experience. In studying at QCA, I have developed a taste for design in illustration, typography and branding in particular and look forward to applying my skills in the design industry.

During that time I learnt that some of my favourite areas of graphic design are branding and content creation, as you truly get to bring someone’s ideas visually to life. My design work is a mixture of vector based designs and tactile crafty elements, creating an overall wholesome, hearty feeling.

During my time at QCA I have had the opportunity to participated in an internship at Liveworm Southbank. This internship has let me gain skills such as, studio communication, how to follow a design brief and a brand style guide, how to take on and implement client feedback and being able to meet deadlines.
