It takes time and dedication to achieve the skill level required to reach the Olympics
In fact, the Olympic journey can take many, many years. These athletes are constantly building on their knowledge and skills and develop a lifelong habit of focus and learning.
Griffith University, as the Australian Olympic Pathway University partnered with the Australian Olympic Committee, recognises the expert knowledge and skills learned by Olympians align with our undergraduate programs by awarding credit transfer to Olympic athletes.
For athletes who have competed at an Olympic Games, verified by the Australian Olympic Committee (AOC), Griffith University awards credit transfer of up to 40CP Level 1 Flexible Module Electives towards an undergraduate program, where the program requirements permit.
Students must provide a letter from the AOC confirming that they have:
- signed the Australian Olympic Team Member Agreement,
- completed all required integrity-related courses (relating to anti-doping and prevention of competition manipulation), and
- held themselves in accordance with the Olympic Charter, AOC Team Rules, Ethical Behaviour By-Law, and Code of Conduct.
For details of how you can receive recognition of your dedication as an Elite Olympic athlete towards your degree, please contact the Credit team and we will assist you further.
