Improving the wellbeing of the community

Quality research is critical to inform policies, program design, and innovative ways of working in human services.  Social work and human services research undertaken in the School aims to enhance understanding of social problems, improve social work and human services practices, develop equitable social policy, and empower clients and carers.  It highlights the nature of lived experience and the ways that inequality and diversity shape experiences to promote social inclusion. Our researchers have extensive ties to government and nongovernment community services and health sectors. We collaborate with our research partners to generate knowledge and new ways of thinking to inform effective and accessible responses to social need.
