Based on our Gold Coast and Mt Gravatt campuses, we provide confidential and affordable psychology services to those in need. Our provisionally registered and fully registered psychologists can help you, your child and your family cope with a wide range of mental health issues.

Our clinic is open to the public and offers both individual and group-based therapy sessions, with no referrals required.

Our clinic continues to support our community and is open for face-to-face appointments as well as appointments via telehealth.

Individual therapy

You can choose between structured treatment programs or flexible programs where your therapist will work with you to identify modules that best suit your needs. All ages (child, adolescent, adult) are welcome. No diagnosis or referral is necessary, although with a referral you may be eligible for Medicare or private health insurance rebates.

Group therapy

We offer a range of group therapy options for adults and children. The adult programs focus on practicing mindfulness, as well as dealing with the struggles of daily life.

Child programs

Our child programs focus on helping children deal with anxiety and improve their social skills. Our Child Anxiety program is for children 8–11 years.

Assessments

A variety of assessment options are available for adults and children. Cognitive or learning assessments focus on areas such as academic achievements and learning disabilities.

We offer a range of clinical trials, designed to assess and manage a wide range of learning and behavioural disorders in children. Our clinical trials provide evidence-based treatments for children, adolescence and their families with OCD, anxiety and phobias.

Telehealth appointments

Telehealth consultations allow you to receive the same level of diagnosis, treatment, and prevention aspects that you'd receive with face-to-face consultations, over the internet, in the convenience of your own home.

Whether you visit one of our student or private practitioners, you can be assured that you'll receive the latest evidence-based treatments from passionate individuals who are committed to improving your mental health.

Student clinics

Our interns are provisionally registered psychologists in the final years of their studies and are always under strict supervision by highly experienced Clinical Psychologists.

Private (fully-qualified) clinics

Our professional clinic is staffed by registered psychologists who are widely regarded in the local community. For services in our private clinic, Medicare and Private Health Insurance rebates are available.

Our experienced psychologists use the latest research and practices to help children, adolescence and adults cope with a range of mental health issues. Our clinic is open to the public and no referrals are required.

Our psychologists can help you with:

  • grief and anxiety
  • social skills and relationships
  • diagnostic assessments.

Initial consultation

During the first session your psychologist will provide you with information about confidentiality and consent. Your psychologist will discuss your reasons for wanting to attend therapy and then together you will develop goals for treatment. Some first sessions may last for 1.5 hours, and all future sessions will go for 1 hour. At the end of the first session, you will be asked for feedback on how well your therapist has listened to you and understood your concerns.

Childhood Anxiety

Our Childhood Anxiety Disorders Research Program assesses and treats children with high levels of anxiety, using well-researched diagnostic and assessment tools and evidence-based treatments.

Pre-schoolers Overcoming Phobias

This free program consists of assessment and treatment for children ages 3 to 5 years with a specific phobia. It aims to learn more about the course of childhood fears in young children, and involves testing a novel, brief intervention for childhood phobias.

The Griffith University Paediatric OCD Research Program provides assessment and state-of-the-art evidence-based, cognitive-behavioural treatment (group and individual format) for children and youth with OCD spectrum disorders.

The BRAVE Program

The BRAVE programs are evidenced-based, online, cognitive-behavioural programs aimed at treating anxiety in young children, primary school aged children and adolescents. The BRAVE programs are free to all Australian families and are the result of 20 years of research that has provided strong evidence for their efficacy.

Family Interaction Program

The Family Interaction Program (FIP) is a specialist parenting service and research group that has been working closely with the Queensland Government and families since 2002. FIP provides a diversity of parenting programs to the local community.

Public transport

The Griffith Health Clinics are located within a short walking distance from the Gold Coast University Hospital G:Link stop. The service runs from Helensvale to Broadbeach South and is a reliable and convenient transport option.

Parking

There is limited casual parking available on campus—please allow plenty of time before your appointment to find parking. Where possible, we encourage you to consider alternative transport options or park in the Gold Coast Hospital Parking (see below). If you have any special parking requirements, please discuss this when you make your booking.

Paid parking at the Gold Coast University Hospital

The Gold Coast University Hospital is located directly across from the Griffith Health Clinics and has ample paid parking available. The 24-hour commercial multi-storey parking facility is a convenient option for those travelling to our Clinics.

Once on campus, pass through the first roundabout and follow the road to the left and keep an eye out for signs labelled 'Psychology clinic'. Parking is available out the front of the clinic or alternatively in one of the paid parking options around the campus.
