Professor Michele Burford

Dean (Research Infrastructure), Griffith University

Professor Burford undertook her PhD in Botany at the University of Queensland. She has worked for a number of years at CSIRO in the area of marine ecology before joining Griffith University in 2003. She studies marine and freshwater ecology.

She commenced her role as Dean (Research Infrastructure) in 2018. This position involves taking a strategic view of research infrastructure to ensure that the university has the infrastructure resources needed to support world class research. Professor Burford also works collaboratively with other universities and research agencies in Queensland to take a more coordinated approach to maximising the effectiveness and efficiently of infrastructure use.
