About World Suicide Prevention Day (WSPD)
WSPD is an initiative of the International Association for Suicide Prevention (IASP) and the World Health Organization. Conceived by Professor Diego De Leo AO, WSPD has taken place on 10th September each year since 2003. It serves as a call to action to individuals and organisations to prevent suicide. In 2018, the theme "working together to prevent suicide" highlights that 'collaboration is the most essential ingredient for effective global suicide prevention' (IASP, 2018). The IASP have created the official brochure for WSPD 2018.
