Understand the operational functions of the organisation

Operational literacy is about understanding the operational functions of the organisation. Understanding what it means to be an entrepreneur is explained in the ‘Introduction to Entrepreneurship’ module. As an intrapreneur, you may be responsible for the creation of a new business centre within your employer’s organisation, or you might see a process that is not working properly, and you create a new one that improves the organisation’s profitability. In the topic 'Being an intrapreneur' you will learn how to function as an intrapreneur in your employer’s organisation. Every organisation needs to interact with its stakeholders be they internal or external. To do so, you will need to know how to network, which you will learn about in the 'Networking' module.

Having a well-known personal brand opens doors to opportunities! People are more inclined to hire you, work with you, buy from you and pay more for your time if they are familiar with your personal brand. In the 'Personal Branding' you will learn how to develop your personal brand. Marketing is a complex job as it encompasses a multitude of disciplines, strategies, and tactics! In the 'Marketing' topic you will be briefly introduced to the weapons of marketing. Human resource management (HRM) is all about managing people and the process of bringing people and organisations together so that the goals of each other are met and in the 'HRM' topic you will learn about the four main functions of HRM.
