Dr. Leong was previously an assistant Professor at Nanyang Technological University. He earned his Ph.D. and M.A. from Princeton University. Previously, he conducted research for various government agencies in Singapore, such as the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Committee on the Future Economy, Ministry of Education A-Level Syllabus Development Committee, and Singapore Prison Service. He serves as an editor at the Singapore Economic Review and Economics Open. Dr. Leong's current research interests include the economics of crime, public policy, and finance. His work has been published in journals including the Journal of Financial Economics, Review of Economics and Statistics, Journal of the European Economic Association, Economic Journal, and Economic Inquiry.
