Connecting researchers with the infrastructure and expertise to drive discovery.

Compounds Australia's Members form a diverse national and international community of academic and commercial research organisations united by a shared goal of advancing drug discovery.

Through our unique access model, Members gain access to specialised compound management infrastructure, compound libraries, and expertise that would be difficult and costly to establish independently, accelerating research while maximising the value of existing investments.

Most Australian universities and medical research organisations are Members of Compounds Australia. Contact us to find out whether your organisation is already a Member or to learn how to join.

Why become a member?

As a not-for-profit national research facility supported by funding partners including NCRIS-enabled Therapeutic Innovation Australia (TIA), Compounds Australia provides cost-effective access to specialised drug discovery infrastructure and expertise. Our unique model delivers a scalable and affordable pathway to capabilities that would be difficult and costly for individual organisations to establish and maintain.

Enabling researcher-owned innovation

Compounds Australia facilitates resource sharing and collaboration across the research community while making no claim on intellectual property, ensuring Members retain full ownership of their discoveries and innovations.

Access nationally significant infrastructure

As Australia's only facility dedicated to complex compound management, Compounds Australia provides access to specialised infrastructure, expertise, and services that support more than 250 research teams across ~50 member organisations each year.

Connected drug discovery capabilities

Compounds Australia provides streamlined access to a network of partnered screening and drug discovery facilities, helping researchers efficiently progress from compound management and screening through to hit identification and lead optimisation.

Flexible, open, and accessible

Membership is open to any organisation and carries no joining fee. Pre-agreed terms and transparent fee-for-service pricing enable rapid project commencement and progression, with researchers paying only for the services they use.
