Director of the Griffith University ‘Science on the GO!’ outreach program Professor Richard John would like to acknowledge and recognise the achievements of outstanding students in each of these categories:
- First Nations STEM Student Excellence Award ($50 Prize)
- Young Women in STEM Student Excellence Award ($50 Prize)
- Student of STEM Excellence Award ($50 Prize)
- Teacher of Science in South East Queensland by providing the Beverley and Jock McIlwain Award for Excellence in Science.

Teacher award
The ‘Beverley and Jock McIlwain Award for Excellence in Science' is awarded to a teacher for exceptional science teaching and service towards achieving the objectives of Griffith University’s Science on the GO! science outreach program.
The 2023 ‘Beverley and Jock McIlwain Award for Excellence in Science' was awarded to John Thomas.

The ‘Beverley and Jock McIlwain Award for Excellence in Science’ is awarded to students who have demonstrated outstanding achievements and enthusiasm in Science throughout the year and will receive a $50 gift voucher and a Griffith University Award certificate.
