Griffith University Dental Admissions Process (GUDAP) Interviews: Candidate information for the Bachelor of Dental Health Science

Congratulations on being invited to interview for the Bachelor of Dental Health Science. We hope that your journey to becoming a successful future dental practitioner starts at Griffith.

GUDAP interviews will be undertaken via the SAMMI online system between 9am on Thursday, 20 November and 5pm on Tuesday, 25 November 2025 (AEST). You will choose the time and date that you wish to undertake your GUDAP interview during this period. There will be opportunities for you to practice recording your GUDAP interview before you undertake your actual interview.

Important information about the interview process is detailed below. To confirm your intention to participate in an interview, please return your Letter of Confidentiality by 11:59pm on Wednesday, 15 October 2025 (AEST).

As a commencing student, you will need to hold, or apply for, a Unique Student Identifier (USI) before census date. To create your USI or read more about it, visit the Australian Government's USI site.

What you will be asked at the interview

The interview process has been designed to assess suitability based on criteria agreed by the University to be important for success in the program and in subsequent dental practice. The qualities rated as desirable include:

  • good communication skills
  • an empathetic and ethical approach
  • a reflective manner
  • problem-solving skills
  • teamwork and decision-making skills

What you will not be asked at the interview

You will not be asked at interview about any issues that are irrelevant, or contrary to equal opportunity principles, for example:

  • age, religion, sexual preferences, race, nationality or ethnic origins
  • marital or family status; occupation of parents, or
  • physical disabilities, health issues or infectious diseases.

If you require accommodations for disabilities, please request these by no later than 17 November 2025.  See details below.

Top tips for Candidates

  • Plan to do your interview earlier rather than later to avoid being rushed on the last day to complete your interview. Once the interview window closes at 5pm on Tuesday, 25 November (AEST), it will not be re-opened.
  • If you perform best in interviews in the morning, aim to do your interview in the morning. If you believe you will perform best at midnight, then aim to do your interview at midnight. The choice when you do your actual interview is in your hands - take advantage of this.
  • Have a back-up plan worked out in advance if your computer equipment or internet fails. This could include accessing these at a friend’s or relative’s house, or at a local library.
