Learning Chinese language
In 2024 the Chinese language courses will be delivered both online via Zoom class and campus based. Each term contains 10-week lessons plus 2 culture modules. A free Chinese proficiency assessment will be available to everyone who registers for a course.

Basic Chinese
Basic Chinese (1) is for learners with little or no prior knowledge of Mandarin. The course will teach all four macro skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing. The main focus will be on speaking and listening as well as covering vocabulary and expressions useful in everyday situations.

Intermediate Chinese
Intermediate Chinese (1) is for learners with some prior knowledge of Mandarin or who have finished the study of all Basic Chinese courses. The course will teach all four macro skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing. The focus will be on intensive and extensive reading, holding long conversations and more advanced listening as well as covering vocabulary and expressions useful in everyday situations.

Please be advised:
Class size: Except for the Private classes, the minimum class size is THREE. Any class with fewer than three students will be subject to cancellation or merging with a similar class.
Class Attendance: All students are encouraged to have full attendance for the whole term. The TCI does not offer make-up lessons to students who miss a class. We suggest students learn the missed lessons by themselves, and teachers will be available for answering questions via emails, texts and other means of communication.
Registration Flexibility: Students may register after the deadline if there is space available. Registration will close two weeks before the first class meeting. Please contact us regarding late registration or private classes.
Class times are somewhat flexible and may be subject to change with the teacher and students confirmation after the first class meeting.
Refund Policy: where a refund results from a situation caused by the Institute, eg cancelled class, a full refund of the fees will be given. No refunds will be issued once a course has commenced. It may take up to three months for you to receive your refund once a claim has been submitted.
Concession Policy: You are eligible for concession price for the lesson if you are concession card holders. The discount price for the non-pirvate lesson is $200.00 dollars. Click here for concession payment.
