Explore a melting pot of cultures where tradition meets technology

Malaysia is of increasing importance to Australia’s regional strategic and trade engagement. It boasts a vibrant economy with strong growth and a diverse business environment. Malaysia is known for its beaches, rainforests and mix of Malay, Chinese, Indian and European cultural influences. The capital, Kuala Lumpur, is home to colonial buildings, busy shopping districts and skyscrapers such as the iconic, 451m-tall Petronas Twin Towers.

Student testimonial

The NCP funded GABI program gave me the opportunity to live and work in Southeast Asia. Creating momentum for personal growth and development, gaining insightful and valued experience in both work and life it has been a dream come true.

Having targeted this program as part of my education from year 1 in my degree it didn’t disappoint. I was accepted into the Malaysia cohort and joined a group of inspiring and passionate individuals who despite our differences came together and enjoyed camaraderie. Building upon each other’s knowledge and experiences we became family and friends.

As part of MABC, I was exposed to many intelligent people and was able to network and gain valuable insights that gave me confidence in my own abilities and life goals. I discovered potential new career opportunities and an understanding of what motivates and drives me in life.

MABC also encouraged exposure to networking inviting me along to networking events and assisting in arranging meetings with some of the key partners involved with the council.

Anyone considering this program should absolutely do it, regardless of age, income or industry. This is not just a study program or work experience; this is life experience it will change the way you view yourself and your surroundings. It encourages you and supports you to grow and with an amazing group of people and a solid support team at GABI you never feel alone.
