Treasury Building

The Treasury Building is being designed to support accessible entry and movement, including lift access and accessible pathways. Specific arrangements for drop-off points, accessible routes, and parking will be confirmed closer to opening.

There will be multiple food and beverage outlets in the Treasury Building, as well as a student hub with kitchen facilities, vending machines and a food pantry. The Treasury Building’s location in the heart of the Brisbane CBD also provides easy access to a range of food options, including food courts, cafes and restaurants.

Griffith students from all campuses are welcome at the Treasury Building, with many spaces for meetings and study available.

Parts of the Treasury will open to the public from 8am - 8pm, Monday to Friday, with a 24/7 security presence.

As the custodians of the Treasury Building, Griffith is required to maintain a level of public access to the building. Parts of the building will be open to the public from 8am - 8pm, Monday to Friday. This will be limited, with other areas available to staff and students via a swipe card system or similar. Like our other campuses, security presence in the form of the Campus Support team will be onsite 24/7.

The Treasury Building will be equipped to meet the technological needs of a modern university campus.

The Treasury Building is well connected by public transport, with a dedicated Griffith University TransLink bus stop at our front door and the Queen St and Cultural Centre bus interchanges, train stations and ferries all a short walk away. If pedal-power is more your speed, there’ll also be end-of-trip facilities available for your use. There will be no dedicated university parking; however, private parking facilities are available nearby.

Griffith does not have allocated car parking within the CBD location. Staff and students are encouraged to use public transport and active transport options. For operational activities such as deliveries or events, loading bays on George Street and a rear loading dock are available, subject to access arrangements. Planning for these activities will be managed through local operational processes. For trip planning, staff and students are recommended to visit Translink.

With the recent addition of the Brisbane Metro along the Southeast Busway, there are now multiple bus services an hour between Brisbane South (Nathan) and the Treasury Building. There are no plans at present for a private intercampus bus and staff and students are encouraged to visit Translink to plan their journey.

Yes, Student Associations and the Student Representative Council will have a presence at the Treasury Building.

At the Treasury Building, students will be able to enjoy all aspects of university life—clubs and societies, social activities, markets, events, and ongoing support—right in one of Brisbane’s most iconic locations. Students will have access to key services like study skills, student mentoring, careers, financial advice, disability and accessibility support, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander support and more. The Student Representative Council will also be onsite and will run their food pantry, free fruit and vegetable market, free breakfast bar and meal drops throughout each trimester.

Students studying at the Treasury Building will also have access to services and facilities across other Griffith campuses.

The Treasury Building is located in the heart of Brisbane's CBD, offering easy access to a wide range of food and retail options, health and medical services, gyms and parklands. Griffith’s Brisbane City (South Bank) campus, home to the Queensland College of Art and Design, Queensland Conservatorium and Grifith Film school, is located just across the river.
