The Chinese Bridge Competition is a worldwide contest for university students to demonstrate their talent and passion for Chinese language, as well as promoting better understanding between China and the global community. Since its launch in 2002, over 50,000 students from more than 50 countries have participated in this annual competition sponsored by the Office of Chinese Language Council International (Hanban) in Beijing.

The annual competition is held in May and is hosted jointly by University of Queensland’s Confucius Institute and Griffith University’s Tourism Confucius Institute. All Queensland university students who are studying Chinese language and culture are encouraged to apply for the Confucius Institute scholarship covering tuition fees, travel, accommodation and living expenses while representing Queensland in the international finals held in Beijing.

Please watch this space for information regarding the 2020 competition.
