The goal of the Mannu Kala Foundation Final Year MD Scholarship is to provide financial tuition fee support to a high achieving final year Doctor of Medicine (MD) student affected by educational disadvantage (financial hardship, educational disruption, disability or others).

Scholarship details
To be eligible you must:
- be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, permanent humanitarian visa holder or New Zealand citizen
- demonstrate educational disadvantage based on a comprehensive assessment by the University
- be enrolled in the final-year (Phase 3) of the Doctor of Medicine (MD) program.

Application assessment
Students will need to demonstrate educational disadvantage that impacts their ability to achieve their potential.
Information provided by individuals in their Griffith online scholarship application is assessed and ranked in accordance with the following Educational Disadvantage Assessment (EDA) categories:
- Financial hardship
- Home environment and responsibilities
- English language difficulty
- Personal illness and disability
- Educational disruption
- Remoteness or relocation within Australia.
Selection is based primarily on academic merit and the Educational Disadvantage Assessment.
Priority will be given to students with the highest score in General Surgery.
Value
The scholarship covers 100% student contribution charges (HECS), tuition fees, for the final year of the Doctor of Medicine (MD) program.
Payment
Payments to the recipient's student contribution charges (HECS) are made prior to census date, subject to the recipient satisfying scholarship terms and conditions.

To remain eligible for the scholarship, recipients will be required to:
- be enrolled full-time in their final year of the Doctor of Medicineprogram at Griffith University by the census date.
- remain in good academic progress
The recipient may be invited to meet with the donor and feature in marketing materials to promote the Scholarship. The donor may produce public communications to promote and celebrate the scholarship, using recipient collateral provided by the University.
Deferral of the Mannu Kala Foundation Final Year MD Scholarship is not permitted.
The above conditions are verified each trimester at Census date. If a scholarship recipient fails to successfully meet these conditions, further scholarship payments may be withheld, or the scholarship may be terminated.
Applications must be completed and submitted by the closing date.

Applicants may be shortlisted and be required to provide additional information.
