Scholarship details

To be eligible, you must:

  • be an Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident
  • be female
  • be a commencing full-time student enrolled in Bachelor of Applied Financial Advice, or be commencing a Griffith Business School honours program with a topic related to financial planning, finance or accounting, or be a commencing postgraduate student in one of the following degrees:
    • Graduate Certificate in Financial Planning
    • Graduate Diploma of Financial Planning
    • Master of Financial Planning
    • Graduate Certificate in Professional Accounting
    • Graduate Diploma of Professional Accounting
    • Master of Professional Accounting
    • Graduate Certificate in Finance
    • Graduate Diploma of Finance
    • Master of Finance.

Statements

The following statements will be used in the selection process:

  • Personal statement: Your statement should outline some details about yourself and your personal ambitions. You should include how the scholarship will help you achieve your current and future career goals.
  • Challenges statement: You are asked to address one or more of the following categories:
    • financial hardship
    • home environment and responsibilities
    • English language difficulty
    • regional location
    • re-entering the workforce.
  • Supporting documentation section: Upload a copy of your Curriculum Vitae (CV).

Value

There are eight scholarships available. Each scholarship has a maximum value of $5,000, paid in instalments of $2,500 against the tuition fees for the degree which the scholarship is awarded.

Please note: Scholarship payments made to part-time students may be taxable.

Payment

Contribution to tuition fees is made prior to census date, subject to recipients satisfying scholarship terms and conditions.

To remain eligible for the scholarship, you will be required to:

  • remain enrolled at Griffith University in the degree for which the scholarship was awarded.
  • Maintain a minimum GPA 4

The above conditions are verified each trimester at Census date. If a scholarship recipient fails to successfully meet these conditions, scholarship payments may be withheld, or the scholarship may be terminated.

The recipient may be invited to meet with the donor and feature in marketing materials to promote the scholarship.

The scholarship offer cannot be deferred and must be accepted and paid in 2023.

Applications must be completed and submitted by the closing date.

Applicants may be shortlisted and be required to provide additional information.

Assessment is made on the basis of applicants meeting one or more of the following categories:

  • financial hardship
  • home environment and responsibilities
  • English language difficulty
  • regional location.

Griffith University reserves the right to withdraw an advertised scholarship at any time.
