Scholarship details

To be eligible, you must:

  • be an Australian Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident or Australian Permanent Humanitarian Visa holder
  • be full-time enrolled in the penultimate or final year of the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours), including double degrees, and majoring in Civil Engineering
  • have a minimum GPA of 5.

Shortlisted applicants will be contacted for further information and asked for a statement outlining their interest in geology, geomechanics or geotechnical engineering.

Information provided by individuals in their Griffith online scholarship application is assessed and ranked in accordance with the following Educational Disadvantage Assessment categories:

  4. Personal Illness and Disability
  5. Educational Disruption
  6. Relocation within Australia.

Priority will be given to students who demonstrate a commitment to pursuing a career in geotechnical engineering or similar.

Value

Maximum value is $8,000, paid in instalments of $4,000 in trimester 1 and trimester 2 only, provided conditions are met.

Payment

Payments are made up to three weeks after the census date, subject to satisfying scholarship terms and conditions.

EDG Consulting Pty Ltd provides design, engineering, advice and geosciences services to private, public and government clients over a wide range of market sectors.

To remain eligible for the scholarship, you will be required to:

  • remain full-time enrolled at Griffith University in the degree for which this scholarship was awarded
  • maintain a minimum program GPA of 5.

The above conditions are verified each trimester at census date. If a scholarship recipient fails to successfully meet these conditions, scholarship payments may be withheld, or the scholarship may be terminated.

The scholarship cannot be deferred.

Recipients cannot take a Leave of Absence.

Applications must be completed and submitted by the closing date.

Applicants may be shortlisted and be required to provide additional information.

Griffith University reserves the right to withdraw an advertised scholarship at any time.
