The purpose of  the QCGU Walther Scholarship is to provide support for students studying an undergraduate degree at the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University demonstrating exceptional promise in classical keyboard.

Scholarship details

To be eligible, you must:

  • be an Australian Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident, Humanitarian Visa Holder or New Zealand citizen
  • be auditioning at the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University for entry into an undergraduate QCGU program studying a Bachelor of Music - keyboard (classical)
  • commencing full-time study  in 2027.

Assessment is made during the entry audition process. The student ranked highest at the audition process in classical keyboard may be offered the scholarship.

Value

The maximum value of the scholarship is $9,000.  Instalments of $4,500 are payable in trimesters 1 and 2 provided conditions are met.

Subject to receipt of donor funding, and at the discretion of the University, this scholarship may continue for an additional period which may extend throughout the duration of the degree.  Recipients will be notified in writing of the outcome in each applicable year.

Payments

Payments will be made by Griffith University direct to the recipients nominated bank account up to three weeks after the census date of Trimester 1 and 2, subject to maintaining ongoing eligibility requirements and conditions.

To remain eligible for the scholarship, recipients must:

  • remain enrolled, full-time in the approved Griffith University program at census date
  • maintain a minimum GPA of 6.0

Recipients may take leave of absence in accordance with Griffith University policy.  Scholarship benefits are suspended for the period of leave of absence.

The above conditions are verified each trimester at census date. If a scholarship recipient fails to successfully meet these conditions, scholarship payments may be withheld, or the scholarship may be terminated.
