Microsoft has ended support for Vista, XP and Phones

As Microsoft no longer support Windows Vista, Windows XP or Windows 10 mobile,  Griffith University is unable to support these devises connecting to the University Wi-Fi as they  are vulnerable to security risks, viruses and malware.

As of April 2017, Microsoft ceased to provide security updates or technical support for the Windows Vista operating System.

Windows XP

As of April 2014, Microsoft ceased to provide security updates or technical support for the Windows XP operating System. It is critical to migrate now to a modern operating system.

Windows Mobile Phones

In 2017, Microsoft announced that it was no longer focused on its mobile platform.

As of December 2019, Windows 10 Mobile users will cease to provide security updates, non-security hot fixes, free assisted support options, or online technical content updates from Microsoft.

According to Microsoft, Only device models that are eligible for Windows 10 Mobile, version 1709 are supported through the end date. For Lumia 640 and 640 XL phone models, Window 10 Mobile version 1703 was the last supported OS version and will reach end of support on June 11th, 2019.
