Recognising outstanding service to the community

The Griffith Business School Community Service Award recognises a student who has made a positive difference to the wider community through active and enthusiastic participation in community service or volunteering initiatives locally or abroad during the 2022 academic year.

Students may demonstrate service to their local community through such activities as community development projects and/or volunteering.

Prize value: $500.00

Application process

Submit your application details below and attach the following:

  • Personal statement outlining your eligibility for the award (maximum 1500 words).
  • Supporting documentation (this could include reports, photographs, letters confirming
    participation in relevant activities).
  • Letters of recommendation from a minimum of two referees endorsing the application.

Late applications will not be considered.

Applications for the 2024 awards will open in September 2024.

The Griffith Business School Community Service Award recognises an undergraduate student who has made a positive difference to the wider community through active and enthusiastic participation in community service or volunteering initiativesduring the academic year in which you are applying.

The Award is one in a suite of academic and co-curricular funded awards which are aligned with Griffith Business School’s vision, mission and values

4.0 NATURE OF PRIZE

$500 paid by transfer to winner’s nominated bank account.

5.0 ELIGIBILITY FOR PRIZE

To be eligible for consideration a candidate must be enrolled as a student of Griffith Business School.

6.0 SELECTION PROCESS

  • Applications will be considered by a small selection panel, comprised of members of the Griffith Business School executive leadership team.
  • The Award is offered each year but will only be awarded if appropriate, qualified nominations are received. The selection panel reserves the right not to award in a specific category in the event that no suitably qualified candidate is identified.
  • Previous winners are not eligible to apply.

7.0 ADMINISTRATION OF THE PRIZE

Griffith Business School is responsible for the administration of the prize.
