About this service

This service provides assistance with the wired, physical connections to Griffith University's network, which allows access to online resources, such as Learning@Griffith, shared drives, staff portal and the internet.

Requests and costs for for new outlet installation, to activate or deactivate an existing port, network cables (also known as a patch lead) or additional firewall access, are available online.

  • Academic staff
  • professional staff
  • HDR students.

What to expect

  • Access to the network will be available 99% of the time outside of scheduled maintenance activity.
  • Simple network port activations (one or two ports where cabling exists) can be completed within five days in 99% of instances.
  • Complex network ports activations (more than two ports) can completed within five days in 95% of instances.

There is no cost to use this service. Exceptions may occur if a large number of new installations are requested by an element (for example, a new office space). This work would be undertaken by an external vendor and costs passed onto the requesting element.
